I'm to the point where when people make a joke about GM recalls when I comment/make a post about GM cars, I dismiss it. Do they not realize how unoriginal they sound?

"Lol, lets make the same joke over and over again. I'm so original and funny."

On the plus side, yesterday's Morning Shift didn't have anything about GM in it. Not too sure about today's.

Elmiraj because classy.

GM Recalls are the new "lambo, dude"... of course yoi cna't ignore tje absolute clusterfuck thisnhas become, but I wonder if some of it isn't actually overblown. I mean, I could probably jostle the key outf of my 95 Fiat if I tried, and yet that has never happened in 18 years of ownership.

Dont get me wrong I love all Cars Including GM, especially the ElMiraj. I just love humor too, why cant there be both?

PS- As a design student I think the new Cadillac logo is a big step in the right direction.

Oddly enough, I like GM's older stuff better than the newer things. My '99 Grand Am GT was 10,000 times better built and more reliable than my wife's former car (a 2006 Malibu LT). However, the new-new stuff (like the SS) seems nice as well. I just don't trust nor want anything of theirs from the mid-2000s (Cobalt, Malibu, HHR, etc.).

Maybe it's because the jokes play to many truths of GM.

Maybe if you don't like what people have to say about your information on GM you should stop reporting any? How fucking revolutionary is that brah?

Well, its sort of how the joke is done, but not for every single mention of GM like you said. The best recall laugh I have had in a while was GM's Recall of a Recall . It was just too ridiculous to not smile.

The hellcat is for dumb americans, taken back with WE MADE THE CAR HAVE THIS MUCH POWA, because we have don't have the mechanical engineering and production skills to build the car with a better chassis and more quality suspension.

Car is exactly why american cars became shit boxes. Only fun from the car = gas guzzling hard enough to make you feel it, meh.

I would much rather see dodge try to engineer a decent little sedan or sports car, but anyone who has drive an srt4 knows thats a joke.

07/16/2014 at 16:22

Kinja'd!!!1

There was definitely a stymied period when gm began its new production methods with the same old shit cars.

The biggest thing is the gaps of interior and even exterior pieces are much better, however this is really useless because they are still using the same overall low grade plastics and interior pieces, low grade exterior panels. Engines have gotten more economical and somewhat more reliable.

In reality the basic american cars are still trash garbage. You look at a performance german car vs american not so bad of a comparison. You look at a regular american sedan more base econo model vs. german it will make you puke and shit in your mouth at the same time. So anyone hopping on the gm and ford econo shitbox train is going to realize in 10 years they were full of shit when they decided american cars had changed.

I don't even really consider myself a GM guy like you and I'm tired of them. They just aren't funny anymore... And same with the Ferrari jokes, they aren't clever, and they aren't funny.

It's just an easy way for FP trolls to jerk each other off and get easy recommendations whenever either of the brands is mentioned in an article.

Haha

Kinja'd!!! Nibbles > Kailand09
07/16/2014 at 17:44

Kinja'd!!!1

Because every car should sound like a Ferrari, handle like a Porsche, weigh as much as a Lotus, have an interior as comfortable and refined as a Bentley, and have utility capabilities of a Sierra 1500 Denali. Not the 2500 or 3500 because anyone who says they need that much capability is obviously a liar.

Anybody jumping on the Ford train is going to be glad they did because in 5 years, the German cars will be having all sorts of electronics and oil-consumption issues and in 10 they will be in worse shape than most of those same Fords because they will have been flipped twice as often for the "superior image" they provide their owners because the previous owner couldn't afford the upkeep.

The GM train? Eh, no idea. Their shit from the mid '80s through the 'mid 00s literally disintegrates around you.
